Angels end up on wrong side of a broom, drop 6th straight game

Sunday baseball was not a lot of fun

MLB: Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Angels 1 Astros 3

Offense was sparse in this one with only 11 total hits an 4 runs scored. For their part, the Angels could only muster 4 hits and a single run in a game them sent them to 5 games below .500 - the worst record they’ve had yet this season. Not fun.

This loss came on the back of a quality start but Felix Pena - his longest of the season and career. He allowed only 3 runs over 6 innings but when your offense is absent, that quality start means little. Not fun.

Framber Valdez showed us once again that the Angels often seem to struggle against young rookie pitchers as he allowed just a single run on 2 hits over his 5 innings in his major league debut. You’re welcome Valdez - the Angels are happy to make you look good. Also not fun

Pretty much proof that not much happened in this game is that there is exactly ONE video highlight of the entire game - Rene Rivera nabbing “Tuve” trying to steal second. This was actually pretty fun.

Really not much more to say on this one. Turn the page, and maybe the next few pages with the Rockies coming to town and 4 more games against the Astros next weekend. Maybe we’ll have some fun next week anyway??
