Angels sweep the Tigers behind Barria’s scoreless start

Hey it’s the Tigers, but winning is still fun!

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Los Angeles Angels Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Angels 6 Tigers 0

The Angels came out shooting again with a Kole Calhoun blast in the 1st inning. That single run would be all the Angels would need to put this one in the bag and send the Tigers whimpering back to Detroit after being smoked 24-7 over this 3 game sweep.

One run is all the Halos needed but they logged 6 total today, including back to back jacks byJustin Upton and Albert Pujols (his 999th hit as an Angel) in the 5th inning. Jefry Marte had an impressive showing as well with 2 hits including a double an RBI.

Jaime Barria had a solid 5 2/3rd inning start in which he allowed zero runs. The bullpen arms of Taylor Cole, Hansel Robles, and Noe Ramirez combined with Barria to complete the shutout. Barria, who struck out 5, lowered his ERA to 3.59.

How sweep it is!
