At 7:14 AM on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019, Jeff Passan broke the best new ever:
BREAKING: Star center fielder Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels are finalizing a record-breaking 12-year contract worth more than $430 million, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Details: https://t.co/bROnnC11Uh

That’s a double whammy for Bryce Harper. First that hit by pitch, now his pitch to land Trout goes nowhere.
That is nearly HALF A BILLION dollars and Mike Trout is worth every penny. You could even argue that he will still be under paid. This deal reportedly has no opt outs and I imagine a full no-trade clause. Mike Trout wants to be an Angel for life which is good for Trout, good for Angels fans, and good for baseball. You just don’t see that anymore.
Mike Trout loves the #Angels, and never was remotely interested in leaving, and proves it by agreeing in principal to 12-year, $430 million contract extension, per @JeffPassan

Mike Trout's deal with #Angels is at $35.83M AAV, enabling team to both keep him yet build a team around him. Win-win-win.

Well, except for Phillies and Yankees fans. And Mariners fans. Sorry, Mariners fans.
More to come on this amazing and developing story.
