It was just a minor toe injury, they said. He should be fine, they said.
They forget we were here during all the pitcher injuries. When it was first a minor inflammation. Which then became a couple weeks. Which always became a torn UCL, requiring TJ surgery.
Friday afternoon, the other shoe dropped.
Justin Upton is expected to be out 8-12 weeks, per Brad Ausmus. They just got further evaluation from a doctor. #Angels

During an exhibition game, Upton ran into a wall and had to be removed from the game. He has turf toe, which is a sprain of the big toe joint. Sounds painful!
Remember that last year Upton cut himself on a wine glass.
Upton hit .257/.344/.463 last year in 145 games. Peter Bourjos and Brian Goodwin are expected to split time in left field until the Angels can figure something out, and Kole Calhoun’s job is probably safe for a while.
