Zack Cozart won’t play in any games for the next few weeks, per multiple sources, including Maria Torres of the LA Times:
Zack Cozart will not play in a game for a couple of weeks, #Angels manager Ausmus said. Has a grade 1 left calf strain. He’s optimistic he’ll be able to come back at the end of the Cactus League schedule.

Recall that Cozart missed the bulk of last season after falling awkwardly on his left shoulder. A shortstop for most of his career, Cozart probably hasn’t had the game experience to be comfortable with another position yet. As a result, the Angels may take it slower with him, considering that David Fletcher, Taylor Ward, Luis Rengifo, and Tommy La Stella are options around the infield.
Cozart slashed .219/.296/.362 last year.
Let the games begin!
