Wednesday afternoon, the Angels recalled starter Jaime Barria to the majors.
Barria, 22, made his major league debut in 2018, pitching 129.1 innings with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. He provided depth to the snake-bitten 2018 team.
After the Angels acquired Chris Stratton from the Giants, Barria was the odd man out, getting sent to AAA Salt Lake City to start the season. He made one start for the Bees.
It is unclear if Barria will slot into the rotation or not, as the Angels currently have five starters who have made multiple starts so far this season.
Luke Bard was sent down in Barria’s place. Bard has made 4 appearances this season and given up 2 HRs.
Update: Barria is gone.
