Luis Rengifo is ready for his Big League debut!

Rengifo is the the first of likely many debuts for the Angels this year

MLB: Spring Training-Los Angeles Angels at Colorado Rockies Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Looks like there is a new youngster in the Angels clubhouse today.

Rengifo is already on the 40-man roster so no move is needed there. He’ll be taking Zack Cozart’s spot on the 25-man roster.

22-year-old Rengifo was the PTBNL in the trade that sent C.J. Cron to the Tampa Bay Rays. This spring he appeared in 15 games and hit .240 with a .323 OBP over 31 plate appearances. Rengifo is the angels #7 rated prospect on and will be the first player to make his MLB debut with the Angels in 2019 (last year the Angels led the majors with 16 debuts).

Rengifo has a .284 OBP for Salt Lake this year but slashed .299/.399./.452 across 3 levels in 2018. He has split his time between 2B and SS so far this year, with 8 innings played in left field.
