Jeff Fletcher and Maria Torres both posted the news:
#Angels prospect Griffin Canning will start and make his MLB debut on Tuesday vs. the Blue Jays in Anaheim

There was speculation that Canning would be arriving soon after this news:
The Angels had RHP Griffin Canning throw 90 pitches in a simulated game in Arizona to build up his pitch count, Ausmus said. He said Canning “is on our radar.” Ausmus wouldn’t say where Canning’s next start will be.

And now he is here!! Certainly not a season savior, but the Angels have had few home grown pitchers over the past 10 years that they drafted and groomed for the big leagues. Canning is one of those few.
Canning was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft and so far this year has been dominating in AAA. Over 3 game and 16 innings, he allowed only 1 earned run and struck out 17.
Also in Anaheim on Tuesday? Vladdy Jr. who is making his big league debut today. Should be a great game to watch next week.
Welcome to The Show Canning!!
