If you play for the Royals, you probably aren’t happy when Tyler Skaggs rolls in to town. In 4 starts now at the “K”, Skaggs has a measly 0.35 ERA and has been absolutely brutal to Royals hitters.
The Angels got things moving fast in this one when David Fletcher and Mike Trout both had singles to start the game. Unfortunately, Andrelton “swing at everything” Simmons ground into a double play, erasing Mike Trout from the base path like a Thanos snap.
But fortunately, the Angels had Albert “636 home runs” waiting on deck and ready to smash #637 and knock in RBIs #1994 and #1995, leaving him one shy of Barry Bonds for 4th place on the All Time RBI list (or 3rd place if you don’t count Babe Ruth’s RBIs before 1920).
Fun fact:
Albert Pujols has played against two generations of Mondesi.

Kole Calhoun also hit a home run and he did so for his 3rd straight game. He has a .313 average over his last 4 games.
Luis Rengifo continues to look good and notched a multi hit game tonight.
The Angels turned 3 double plays tonight! Yes you read that correctly. They turned 3 double plays against the speediest team in baseball.
The Royals stole ZERO bases and Billy Hamilton was caught stealing once and picked off once (by Skaggs).
I was pretty excited to write about the Angels first shutout of 2019. While they have been shut out twice, they have not returned that favor to any of their opponents. Until tonight - I thought. Justin Anderson had to wreck that in the bottom of the 9th but LTBU anyway!!
