Angels win by the score of 6-3!

Angels 6 Blue Jays 3

The Angels won a game in which Luke Bard served as the opener, a bold move for a generous home-run prone pitcher who has yet to get settled in the big leagues. Felix Peña piggybacked and was brilliant through most of the outing, faltering late. The short-stamina starter struck out four straight Blue Jays hitters to start his outing, with a slider that shone. The Halos used five pitchers to throw nine innings of baseball, including Justin Anderson and Ty Buttrey.

On the flip side, the Angels got to Marcus Stroman early, a starter who entered the game with a piddly 1.43 ERA which increased by over 50% by the time all was said and done. Albert Pujols was able to drive in a run in the first with a sacrifice fly, but the real damage was done in the 4th. Mike Trout cleared the bases with a three-run double down the third-base line, getting it by Vlad Jr. who was playing off the base.

Other things happened, too. Albert Pujols did a thing.

5-1 in the Rengifo era, baby
