No sense in burying the lede...the Los Angeles Angels made a trade:
The Dodgers traded Adam McCreery and catcher Josh Thole to the Angels for cash.

Josh Thole figures to be added to the roster immediately, slotting behind Dustin Garneau, as the Angels are short Kevan Smith and Jonathan Lucroy. Zack Cozart was moved to the 60-day IL.
Thole was not on the Dodgers 40-man roster. The Angels will need to make a move to add him. https://t.co/KXRwCksbFR

The Angels traded away Oakland A’s star player Cash Considerations.
Thole, 32, hasn’t played in the majors since 2016 and spent eight seasons with the Mets and Blue Jays serving mainly as R.A. Dickey’s primary catcher. He has a career slash of .242/.313/.306 with a OPS+ of 73.
Adam McCreery, 26, is a left-handed relief pitcher. What are those?
Update: Thole is actually not going to be on the major league roster yet:
Today, the Angels acquired LHP Adam McCreery & C Josh Thole from the Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations. McCreery has been optioned to Salt Lake. Thole has been assigned to Salt Lake. To make room on the 40-man roster, Zack Cozart has been transferred to the 60-day IL.
