In the end, it was somewhat of a valiant effort. It didn’t matter.
The day after allowing 6 runs in 6 innings, Matt Harvey is gone.
The Angels have DFA’d Matt Harvey.

He will not reach any of his incentives. He compiled a 7.09 ERA and 1.54 WHIP and was somehow allowed to pitch 59.2 innings for this Angels team.
It’s worth noting that the Angels were 6-6 in games started by Matt Harvey, so he didn’t have the severe detrimental effect most fans thought.
(Yes, I know this is a fallacy, but I’m choosing to point it out anyway.)
But the truth is, the Angels couldn’t keep running him out there and keep their slim playoff hopes alive at the same time.
