‘Contending’ Angels blow 4-run lead, lose to the 5th-worst team in baseball

Well, that didn’t go as planned.

The Angels lost today, and deservedly so.

They did not have a stellar day.

There weren’t many around to see it, either, with a now-deleted tweet from stadiumgoer Jeff Pearlman picturing less than 10,000 people at Angel Stadium when the team’s official attendance came in at significantly higher.

Perhaps that’s a good thing, since Griffin Canning, Taylor Cole, Luis Garcia, and Jake Jewell all combined for mediocre performances (though Canning was not aided by pitiful defense).

Mike Trout made an error, too.

Nothing more than you can say, but a beautiful amalgamation of baseball suckitude.

We’ll get ‘em next time. After all, it’s still early.

Also, in honor of the dog days of August, comment below with pictures of your dogs. Lord knows we need them.
