Cam Bedrosian (forearm strain) has been shut down for the rest of the season.
Upton is having the worst season of his career and has been plagued with injuries starting with a smashed toe in the Freeway Series. Rather than continuing to play in pain in meaningless games, Upton will get looked at now and likely start preparing for 2020. Due $72 million over the next 3 years, the Angels really need him to produce better than the -0.9 bWAR he’s put up in 2019.
Bedrosian was having a pretty solid season. Often forearm strains are precursors to Tommy John surgery, but Cam says this one feels different than when he had the procedure a few years ago. Let’s hope that with rest, he is ready to go for 2020.
