Not a lot of news as we barrel our way towards Lunar New Year and get ready for the Year of the Rat. Today kicks off the biggest human migration in the world as families across Asia, particularly in China, rush to be home with family for a 10 day holiday. Definitely not a good time for a new virus to be on the loose.

If you have a Baseball America subscription you can see that two Angels farmhands were given love. Jo Adell wins bronze while Brandon Marsh moves up to 43.

In less great news, five (count them five) Mariners prospects were named in the Top 100, including #8 and #11. Dipoto seems to be doing a pretty good job up there and the AL West should continue to be tough for quite a long time.

Staying in the AL West, the Oakland A’s push for a new ballpark took another step forward. The City Council has agreed to allow an environmental review to be released. The illustrations of that ballpark look great.

ESPN cooled the jets on the Jeter hype with this very balanced take on his actual rankings among shortstops. Clearly a Hall of Famer, but not in the discussion of the best to every play the position.

In the realm of Captain Obvious, Larry Walker will go into the Hall of Fame as a Rockie, not an Expo.

The Mets were the last to fire their manager in the wake of the trash can scandal yet were the first to replace him. Congratulations Luis Rojas.

Alex Gordon will take one last lap around MLB, signing a 1 year $4 million deal with the Royals.

The Milwaukee Brewers are getting a new name on their stadium. American Family Field will take over the name of Miller Park starting in 2021. Brewers.....insurance? Hmm. Seems like a natural fit for a beer company to me.

This name change could lead to an address change as well. And some fans have serious questions about all of this.

At least Miller Lite made the greatest beer/softball commercial of all time.
