2020 Angels in review: Michael Hermosillo

He was on the Opening Day roster... at least that’s one positive

It was a quiet year from Michael Hermosillo, as he only appeared in seven games for the Angels in 2020. He began the season with the club, but was optioned after the first week and then designated for assignment.

Hermosillo cracked the initial Opening Day roster, and was with the club through the first week of the season. In seven total games, Hermosillo saw 10 plate appearances. He didn’t do much with him, as he reached base three times. On August 3, the team optioned him to the Alternate Site. A few weeks later, they designated him for assignment.

The outfielder just could never get it going for the Angels over his three-year run with the team. Since 2018, Hermosillo appeared in 56 games, with 31 of them coming back in 2018. Over that stretch, he hit only .188. He had one home run and drove in only six runs.
