In addition, the Angels are also bringing in Brian Parker, who was an international crosschecker for the Dodgers the last few years. He has a history with Minasian, as they both worked in Toronto’s front office from 2012-16. Parker served as the Blue Jays scouting director in 2012 before joining the Dodgers in 2017. As of this article, It’s unclear what his official role will be with the Angels, but expectations are that he will remain in a scouting capacity.

Other Angels news
- Joe Maddon spoke with the media on Friday, sharing a few interesting tidbits. One notable thing he mentioned was that he’s penciling in Shohei Ohtani into the pitching depth chart for 2021. However, it’s all depending on his health. If Ohtani is healthy enough to be in the starting rotation, the Angels could roll with a six-man rotation. Last season, the team had Ohtani pitch once a week, usually every Sunday.
- Maddon confirmed that the Angels and free-agent catcher James McCann had mutual interest. The Halos were rumored to be in the mix to sign him, but ultimately he decided to sign with the Mets
