Mike Trout narrates MLB video for “Opening day at home”

“Opening day may be postponed, but unity, hope, and community don’t have to be.”

Major League Baseball released a promotional spot for its “Opening day at home” campaign, a series of classic games broadcast across multiple platforms on Thursday in lieu of real, live baseball. The video is narrated by Mike Trout.

“Every year on opening day, we come together. To hope, to believe, to be part of a community,” Trout narrates in the video. “Opening day may be postponed, but unity, hope, and community don’t have to be. This is a team game played by individuals, and every one of us has a role to play. Even though we are apart, we can come together.”

The Angels game included in the “Opening day at home” bunch is a game against the Yankees in New York from May 2018, in which Trout collected his first career five-hit game, including three doubles and a home run.

While Trout voiced the English-language spot, MLB tabbed longtime Dodgers announcer Jaime Jarrin to narrate the Spanish-language video.
