Kelvim Escobar spent the final five seasons of his career with the Angels. Today, we’ll be taking a look back at his first season with the club back in 2004.
For the most part, Escobar was consistent all season, however his best months came in June and August. From the end of May through the end of June, Escobar had a 2.82 ERA. Though his ERA was below three, the Angels went 2-6 during those 10 starts, barely giving him any run support.
Escobar’s best stretch of the season was from August 6 through September 18. During that run, he made nine starts, going 5-3 with a 2.45 ERA. Opponents only hit .215 off of him and he had a SO/BB ratio of better than 3/1.
