Mike Trout leads Los Angeles-area PSA for staying home

Trout is one of 14 local athletes featured in the video

Angels outfielder Mike Trout is part of a multi-sport PSA released on Monday, encouraging people in and around the greater Los Angeles area to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Players from 14 different local teams recorded this PSA, trading off sections, “We Are the World” style.

Here is the message, transcribed:

“Los Angeles, these are unprecedented times. There’s a lot of crazy things going on in the world today. It is vital that we all heed the advice of our public officials. No one is above the situation, and we are all in this together.

“This is bigger than sports. It’s a friendly reminder that we all must play our part to keep our families, our friends, our colleagues, and our fans safe and healthy. Wash your hands with soap and warm water, practice social distancing. No public gatherings. Avoid crowded stores. Do not hoard food, so those supply lines are uninterrupted, and continue to support your local businesses.

“We are in this, and we will get through this, together.”

MLB, NBA, WNBA, NFL, XFL, NHL, MLS teams are represented, as are USC and UCLA. Here is the full list of athletes in the piece, in order of first appearance:
