Mike Trout home run daily: The most prolific power month

A record-tying 13th home run last July

Today’s Mike Trout home run came on the final day of July 2019, the most prolific home run month of Trout’s career.

The Tigers blasted the Angels 9-1 in this game, on July 31, 2019, with Trout providing the only Halos’ run in the sixth inning with a home run against Nick Ramirez.

It was Trout’s 35th home run of the season, tops in the American League and one behind Christian Yelich of the Brewers for the major league lead. This was the 275th homer of Trout’s career.

Trout tied the Angels franchise record with his 13th home run of the month, joining Tim Salmon (June 1996), Mo Vaughn (May 2000), and Albert Pujols (June 2015).

July has been the most prolific power month with 57 home runs, narrowly beating out May (56 homers). Trout has four months in his career with double-digit home runs, and three came in July.

Trout in July 2019 hit .286/.392/.821, one of five career months he’s had at least a 1.200 OPS. In addition to the 13 homers, Trout’s 29 RBI last July are his most in any month.
