Today’s Mike Trout home run daily brings us an anniversary, when he went deep against Jose Quintana and the White Sox seven years ago today.

On May 11, 2013 the Angels were finishing up a road trip at what was then known as U.S. Cellular Field on a cold night before Mother’s Day in Chicago. Alberto Callaspo started this game with a single, followed by Trout driving a pitch out into left center field against Quintana.

This was the fourth home run in 10 days for Trout, and his sixth homer of the season. It was his 41st career home run. Trout has just that one home run against Quintana in his career, though he’s 5-for-11 (.455) with a double and four walks against the left-hander.

Trout singled in the third inning but was picked off trying to steal second base. Later that frame, the Angels scored what would be the winning run on a passed ball.

Trout was 2-for-4 in this game, his seventh multi-hit contest in his last 11 games.
