Hello again from the Mike Trout home run daily, where we look back at every single major league home run hit by the Angels superstar, one game at a time. We use a random number generator to determine each game, and today takes us back to 2015.

The Angels won the first two games of the weekend series against the Tigers before hosting them on Saturday, May 30, 2015, and thanks to Trout the Halos started off strong.

With one out in the first inning against Tigers starter Shane Greene, Trout hit a ball into the rock formation in center field wall for a quick 1-0 lead. Scroll to 2:32 of this video to watch:

That was the 12th home run of the season for Trout, and 110th shot of his career. It was Trout’s first home run in 10 days, though he still managed to hit .324/.359/.459 in between, with five doubles.

Trout walked in the second and scored on an Albert Pujols three-run home run, building an 7-1 lead. The Angels held on the win, 8-6.

Greene has faced Trout five times in two games in his career, and retired him twice, with one of those outs a sacrifice fly. Trout homered twice and walked against him. Greene’s 3.267 OPS allowed is the highest for any pitcher to face Trout in at least four plate appearances.
