Welcome to the Mike Trout home run daily, where we randomly pore through every Trout home run of his career to date, one game at a time.

Today’s long ball is from April 26, 2015, the finale of a three-game series between the Angels and Rangers in Anaheim. Trout had one hit, one walk, and scored one run in each of the first two games of the series, both Angels wins.

Texas pulled ahead 2-0 early, and Trout walked twice and grounded into a double play in his first two times up. But in the seventh inning, with Johnny Giavotella on second base, Trout lined a ball into the rock formation against Rangers reliever Anthony Bass. Scroll to 0:58 of this video:

The Rangers scored a pair of runs in the 11th inning to pull ahead, then the Angels rallied for a run in the bottom of the inning, but left the tying run stranded on first base, giving Texas a 5-4 win.

Trout was 1-for-4 with that home run and two walks in the game. It was his fourth home run of the season, and 102nd of his career.
