Hello again from the Mike Trout home run daily, where we review all the home runs Mike Trout has hit in his career, one game at a time. Our random number generator lands us today on August 7, 2017 against the Orioles.

The Angels were starting the final series of a homestand, and Trout scored the first run of the game after a fourth-inning double against Dylan Bundy. This was the 1,000th hit for Trout, the third-fastest in Angels history to do so:

  • Darin Erstad: 843 games
  • Garret Anderson: 856 games
  • Trout: 879 games

Down 2-1 in the sixth, Trout tied the game with a home run, yanked high off the left field foul pole:

This was Trout’s fourth home run in his last six games, all on the homestand. It was his 23rd homer of the season, and 191st of his career.

Trout’s 20 home runs in 56 career games against the Orioles are his most against any team outside the American League West. Four of those home runs came in 2017, in six games that saw him slug .870 versus Baltimore.
