As expected, all 40 players that were on the 40-man roster in Spring Training made the cut. Per the Angels’ website, “Each team’s player pool can change throughout the season, with clubs able to add and subtract from the group through standard transactions, i.e. waiver claims, free-agent signings, releases and trades. A club’s player pool can consist of up to 60 players but cannot exceed that number.”
Some players included who weren’t on the 40-man roster include RHP Jacob Barnes, catcher Jack Kruger, infielder Jose Rojas and outfielder Jo Adell.
Adell is currently the No. 1 prospect in the Angels organization, and is widely viewed as a top 10 prospect in all of baseball.
Only players on the club player pool list are allowed to use team facilities, either at Angel Stadium or their alternate training site.
