Tuesday’s American League playoff schedule

The postseason is here!

MLB: Cincinnati Reds at Minnesota Twins Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

The Angels season is over, of course, but there are plenty of MLB playoff games to keep us occupied. We won’t get the full slate of eight games until Wednesday (and maybe Thursday too!), but on Tuesday we have all four American League wild card round series to give us wall-to-wall baseball.

The wild card round is a best-of-3 series, with every game at the home park of the higher seed.

Postseason action gets started with the No. 6 seed Astros, who finished under .500 (29-31) and beat the Angels by three games for the second AL West postseason berth. Houston heads to Minnesota to face the No. 3 Twins, who won the AL Central for a second straight year. That first game is an 11 a.m. PT start on ABC, yes ABC, because the ESPN family of networks is televising seven of the eight wild card round series.

TBS has the other series, which begins Tuesday with the No. 8 Blue Jays in St. Pete to face the No. 1 Rays (2 p.m. PT) in the most alliterative AL wild card round series.

Tuesday MLB playoff schedule

  • 11 a.m. PT: No. 6 Astros at No. 3 Twins (ABC)
  • 12 p.m.: No. 7 White Sox at No. 2 Athletics (ESPN)
  • 2 p.m.: No. 8 Blue Jays at No. 1 Rays (TBS)
  • 4 p.m.: No. 5 Yankees at No. 4 Indians (ESPN)
