Last night’s exciting win has added to the Angels current 3 game winning streak putting them just a game under .500 at 66-67 and 8.5 games back of the second Wild Card spot. Capped by a Walsh 3 run HR, impressive bullpen performances from Iglesias, Herget, and Petricka, and Ohtani stealing home base:
Something else you can add to Shohei Ohtani's 2021 season: A steal of home

On the mound tonight for the Angels is Packy Naughton (0-0, 1.68 ERA) who will be making his first career MLB start. He’s previously pitched against the Padres and Dodgers going 5.1 IP allowing 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO, and a 1.50 WHIP.
Gerrit Cole (13-6, 2.80 ERA) will be taking the mound for the Yankees as they try to avoid being swept and maintain their two game lead in the AL Wild Card race. Cole is in the running for the AL Cy Young award along with Robbie Ray and Lance Lynn (Shohei Ohtani will also likely end up with some votes as well).
Cole has 148.0 IP with 200 SO and a .99 WHIP. He was on the COVID list from August 3-16 but has since rejoined the rotation. Here’s the lineup that will be taking on Cole:
