He’s been fantastic for the Angels this season

Whoa.

That just happened.

Desperately needing a starter to eat up innings, Dylan Bundy did just that for the Angels on Thursday afternoon. He threw a nine-inning complete game, allowing only one run as the Angels defeated the Mariners, 6-1.

If it seems like it’s been a while since an Angels starter went all nine innings, well, it’s because it has been a while.

Bundy’s 2020 season has already been off to an impressive start, but this was by far his best outing of the year. He allowed one run in nine innings on only four hits. Even better, Bundy had 10 strikeouts with zero walks. Over the last 20 years, only four other Angels starters have posted those numbers in a game: John Lackey, Ervin Santana, Dan Haren and Jhoulys Chacin.

Initially, the original plan was to shrink the rosters down to 26 in a few weeks, but with everything that has happened in baseball over the last few weeks, the 28-man roster will remain.
They’ll be getting two great bats

It’s been a rough start to the year for the Angels, who currently sit at 3-7 and are in last place in the AL West. The good news for them is that there are still 50 games remaining and they can finish third in the division and still sneak into the playoffs.

With that being said, the Angels will be receiving a lot of firepower for this upcoming series in Seattle. Not only are they getting Mike Trout back, who missed the last few games while on the paternity list, they’ll also be seeing their No. 1 prospect Jo Adell get some playing time.

Playing the Mariners is definitely a great way to get your team back on the winning side of things, but adding two huge bats like that should really give the Angels a much-needed boost.
