Society is made up of people, people are part of society. You cannot have either in a vacuum. It does not work. Environment and genetics makes us, well us. Where we lived, who we had as friends, and when we started being alive shapes us greatly. Really it has many elements of luck to it. Why love baseball at all? Parents? Why did they like it, friends, same question, it was on TV, why was it on TV? There is a lot going on for fans to be made. Perhaps even more than we realize. We choose to continue to watch for whatever reason, but why we cared in the first place might seem completely unrelated until you really think about it.
It all started when I was born c-sectioned from my mom. Baseball has been part of my family before we became a family. My mom played softball and her uncle took her to games when she was growing up. When my father was young he collected baseball cards. So it was no surprise what happened when I came into the world as their first child. My parents took me to Angel games, one of my first photos of me is with my dad next to the Big A when it was white, after all. And I have been a fan ever since. But being born into it does not explain everything. My siblings do not even care for baseball so what gives? What made me someone my parents took to games into someone who wanted to go to games?

'Member Soth's 1,00th manager win?
Well while watching Angel games was a thing I did, it wasn't my biggest priority. At the same time 1 thing was really on my mind, Star Wars. My parents showed me Star Wars as much as they could with VHS and the 1997 re-release but what really got my 5 year old attention hooked was the promotions of Episode 1 in late 1998 to 1999. I mean how could I not? Star Wars is amazing and no one knew what was happening at the time. And maybe it is because I was that young when they came out or what but I still love the prequels to this day.
I was so into watching it and it was new and looked great and HOLY FREAKING CRAP THERE ARE TOYS EVERYWHERE! That caught my tiny mind and I desired them, so did my mom. And guess who had the best Star Wars toys? Pizza Hut/Taco Bell/KFC. And guess what was close to home? A Pizza Hut/Taco Bell/KFC. And guess what tiny me loved to eat a lot of? Pizza.

Mmmm... pizza...
My love of Star Wars and my mom's obsession meant we went there constantly searching for them and hey I can eat Pizza and get toys? Sweet. And what did they also have there? Pepsi. And what cans had Star Wars characters all over them? Pepsi. And what was the soda available at Angel Stadium? Pepsi. So which team did I want to go see more often? Yeah, Angels. That's right, Star Wars led to Pepsi which led to Angel Games since it combined two of my favorite things... THAT THEY RUINED IN 2017!

*SCREAMS EXTERNALLY*
Because of Pepsi because of Star Wars I liked going to Angel Stadium more and more. Also for tiny me, when they renovated the stadium it just looked cooler. Fireworks during the games, the giant video boards, and my favorite drink helped plenty. My dad liked how close to Disneyland it was and we went there at times after or before games. The ability to walk around the whole stadium helped a lot, it was win win win all around. The fact that the team was actually winning actually helped a little, this thing with 2002... when I was a JR. Angels member... yeah, that was fun.

The red American League one is cooler...
So why I am a fan? It could be simply luck, but "In my experience there is no such thing as luck." Wonder what could have happened if my parents were not Star Wars fans... would I drink Coke? My dad does... would I care as much for baseball? Would I be on the Dodgers' site right now? Would I spend more time caring about other sports? Would I even be ME?

Yeah it could have helped...
The moron of the story is, GIVE ME BACK PEPSI ARTE! Please! So many places have Coke already dammit! People always get mad when they ask if Pepsi is OK, But we Pepsi drinkers know to look first because it isn't everywhere.

Pepsi in a coke cup, TAKE THAT!
