Note: I won't be showing the "duds" for the rookie leagues unless they are top prospects or top draft picks. A lot of the guys in the rookie leagues are young and adjusting to pro ball. Many of them never make it past rookie ball, and even the truly gifted ones can have bad weeks, months, etc.

Burlington Bees (12-16, 7th out of 8)
Burlington, Iowa
Level = A, Midwest League
Studs:
Simon Mathews (RHP, 23), In his last 4 starts, Mathews hasn’t allowed a run over a span of 19.2 innings. He also has 19 Ks in that stretch. In his May 24th start he only only 2 walks and zero hits over 5 innings of work.
Isaac Mattson (RHP, 22), Has back to back scoreless starts with only 1 walk and 7 hits over 10 innings.
Others:
Torii Hunter (OF, 22), is only hitting .244 over his last 10 games but has a .362 OBP this season. His outfield buddies Marsh and Adell moved up and he may not be too far behind. Hunter is speedy with 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts and 5 triples already this year.

Inland Empire 66ers (14-17, 2nd place)
San Bernardino, CA
Level = A+, California League
Studs:
Jack Kruger (C, 23), is quietly making a name for himself and is hitting .369 over his last 10 games with a .389 OBP this season. Kruger’s plate discipline shows in his 25 walks to 33 Ks. His caught stealing rate is 23%.
[Moving up] Jeremy Beasley (RHP, 22), Since moving up to IE he has a 2.08 ERA and 14 Ks over 13 innings.
Others:
Jahmai Jones* (2B, 20), Jones is only hitting .190 over his last 10 games and .236 this season. He has struck out 45 times in 45 games. HIs down numbers could be related to the on field adjustments he’s working on.
[Moving up] Jo Adell (OF, 19), the youngest player on the team hasn’t hit well so far. He’s batting .184 in 9 games with 3 home runs, 2 stolen bases, 12 Ks, and 2 walks.
[Moving up] Brandon Marsh (OF, 20), Like Adell, he hasn’t adjusted yet to high A pitching and has a .160 AVG over 12 games. He also has 13 Ks and has yet to hit a home run for the 66ers.
Roberto Baldoquin (SS, 23), Baldoquin was on fire again when he came off the DL but has come down to earth with a .222 AVG over the past 10 games He has a .311 AVG this year and has only walked 5 times to 20 Ks.

Mobile BayBears (6-6 2nd place)
Mobile, Alabama
Level = AA, Southern League
Studs:
[Moving up] Luis Rengifo (SS, 21), This dude hasn’t slowed down much since moving up last week and over his last 10 games he has a .390 AVG with 4 stolen bases. He’s speedy, walks more than he strikes out and steals a ton of bases. Thanks CJ Cron!
[Moving up] Jared Walsh (1B, 24), Walsh is coming for your Albert. 14 home runs in 47 games, including 2 home runs and a .471 AVG over his last 10 games. Walsh is 10 for 22 since moving up to Mobile.
[Moving up] Tyler Stevens (RHP, 22), Part of the group that moved up to Mobile a week ago, Stevens has pitched 3.2 scoreless innings there so far with 7 Ks. He has a 1.98 ERA this year with a 1.02 WHIP.
Griffin Canning (RHP, 21), Just ridiculous this year including a 1.35 ERA over 9 starts with 47 Ks in 40 innings. Over his past 6 starts and 23.1 innings he’s allowed just 1 run with 28 Ks. Perhaps is only weakness to date has been a high walk rate at 4.5 per 9 innings.

Salt Lake Bees (8-6 / 2nd place)
Salt Lake City, Utah
Level = AAA, Pacific Coast League
Studs:
[Moving up] Jose Suarez (LHP, 20), by far the youngest player on the Bees, Suarez rose fast after starting the season in High A. For Salt Lake he has allowed 1 run over 4 innings. Over his past 4 starts, he has stuck out 32 in 18.2 innings with a 1.48 ERA. Suarez could be the next best thing for the rotation after Barria made his debut this year.
Rymer Liriano (OF, 26), Liriano has a .375 AVG and 5 home runs with 13 RBIs over his past 10 games.
Sherman Johnson (OF, 27), Johnson has a .306 AVG over his past 10 games with 4 home runs. This is a guy that hi 5 home runs all of last season (but 12 in 2016).

Eric Young Jr. (OF, 32), hitting .243 over his last 10 games with a home run and 3 stolen bases.
Michael Hermosillo (OF, 23), He’s 5 for 20 since being sent back to Salt Lake with a home run and 9 Ks.
Kaleb Cowart (SS, 25), hasn’t been hitting all that well with a .256 AVG over his past 10 games and only 1 walk.
[Moving up] Taylor Ward* (3B, 24), Technically still in AA (on the DL), he’ll join Salt Lake when his finger cut heals.
