On Wednesday, the Angels announced they had placed Rendon on the 10-day IL with a left knee contusion. As mentioned earlier, this will be his second time on the IL this year, and we’re only one month into the season. Luckily for him and the Angels, the MRI came back clean.

Rendon to the IL wasn’t the only roster move from the Angels on Wednesday. In fact, they were quite busy.

Roster moves

•Reinstated right-handed pitcher Mike Mayers from injured list

•Recalled outfielder Juan Lagares and outfielder Taylor Ward from Salt Lake

•Optioned right-handed pitcher James Hoyt to Salt Lake (AAA)

•Designated right-handed pitcher Ben Rowen for assignment
