Ahead of their doubleheader with the Twins, the Angels made a number of roster moves on Thursday morning.
The first was that they activated starting pitcher Alex Cobb off the injured list. Cobb hasn’t made a start since May 4 due to a blister on his middle finger. He’ll be making the start today for the Halos.
With today being two games, the Angels are eligible to have a 27th man on their roster. It’ll be reliever, José Suarez. The left-hander has only pitched one game for the Angels this season, allowing one run in four innings of work.
The final move was that the club optioned left-handed pitcher José Quijada to Triple-A Salt Lake to clear room on the 26-man roster.
Game 1 starting lineup
The lineup doesn’t feature Shohei Ohtani, who pitched yesterday. Angels manager Joe Maddon said he didn’t want Ohtani playing in two games, but he’ll be in the lineup for the second game.
