Tom Kotchman is Casey Kotchman's father. He is a minor league manager in the Angels' system. He has one of the best managing records in professional baseball history, albeit at the lower levels.
When considering that the Konerko Kontract and now the reported Sweeney deal are all being rooted on by Big Mike, can we at least speculate that - since these deals would necessitate trading Casey Kotchman - they also function as the precursor to Tom Kotchman leaving the organization?
While Scioscia is about as secure as a manger can be, one or two basd seasons would be made tougher by a glowing heir apparent being an obvious succession choice.
