Nomar?

Why haven't people been talking about Nomar as a possibility for the Angels?  He has recently said he is willing to switch positions (when needed he could alternate between 3B, CF, and DH).  He is likely to accept a much smaller contract than last year seeing as how his stock has fallen so much.

So I say, why not offer Nomar a 1 year deal, filled with big incentives, and see how he works out?  He takes walks (something the Angels need), hits his fair share of homeruns, has decent speed, and I think he could really shine on the Angels.

This just seems like a small risk that could possibly pay off big.  I say go for it, he can't possibly be worse than Finley was.

Whittier's own Nomah
He offered to play left field for the Cubs, I believe.  I wonder if he could perchance play centerfield of us?

Hell, he could lead off.

Why bother?
Eesh, I'm just the pessimist lately, but honestly, the only  thing I like about Nomar these days is his ex-soccer star wife.  The guy is the poster-boy for breaking down in a season.  I mean, it's really bad.  I think for every 5 at bats he gets a groin pull (ok, maybe not THAT bad, but dude got some major injury issues).

Don't waste a single cent on anyone else and repeat after me: "Manny, Manny, Manny..."

Wishful thinking, I know, but ya never know...
