So Chris Prieto is coming up to fill Escobar's roster spot, but a minor league pitcher will likely get called up before what had been Escobar's slated Tuesday start. Prieto is a weekend insurance policy for Steve Finley's groin. The career minor leaguer brings a good glove/great range/great baserunning/low hit/plate discipline approach.
On Tuesday it is likely that somebody goes down to Salt Lake and a pitcher comes up. If Kevin Gregg pitches in the next four games, my money is on Bootcheck starting on Tuesday. If the bullpen is not taxed, perhaps we will see Scott Dunn sit on the pine and K-Gregg take the mound.
