The Angels have a fabulous pitching staff with the lowest Earned Run Average in the MAJOR LEAGUES. This is including Kevin Gregg, two disastrous starts by Santana and a blowout here and there.
Ever since the closed-door meeting with John Lackey, the starting staff has been as reliable as any in franchise history. Recent bullpen flatulence hides a suddenly reliable Estaban Yan and miraculous complete unknown Joel Peralta.
On the offensive side of things, the Finley injury is a positive, as it gets a hurt guy out of the lineup and gets hungry fourth outfielders rare at-bats. If the DHing of Bengie Molina sticks, we could have an even stronger threat at the plate. Erstad and Kennedy are on fire and Vlad is Vlad.
Things are clicking.
