Angels announce 2019 coaching staff

It’s finally here.

First year Angels manager Brad Ausmus now has his entire coaching staff in place. A quick look shows plenty of MLB level experience throughout the staff.

There are definitely some interesting names on here, many with Angels history. Josh Paul returns as the bench coach after receiving rave reviews from Mike Scioscia last year. Shawn Wooten is the assistant hitting coach as has been previously reported. Paul Sorrento returns for a fourth year as hitting instructor.

Doug White as pitching coach and Jeremy Reed as hitting coach had previously been announced.

Mike Gallego will take over at third base and run the infield. Jesus Feliciano will man the first base coaches box and work with the outfielders.

More Angels connections can be found with the last two names on the list. Jose Molina returns to the fold to become our catching instructor and Andrew Bailey is the new bullpen coach. Molina had a long run with the Angels and Bailey wrapped up his playing career with us just a season ago.

I’m excited to see how this crew can improve the MLB team.
