Angels Week 25 Rankings - Position Players

The good, the bad, and the meh - Winter is coming

I’ll cover the entire 40 man roster and will split it between position players and pitchers (generally 20 or so guys on each list). Each week the list will change based on the past week’s performance - but also taking into account their performance year to date.

These rankings were compiled with the help of MLB stats, FanGraphs, misc. data, personal opinion, scribblings on Cam Bedrosian’s Five Guys wrappers, and some fairy dust I found hidden in Matt Shoemaker’s beard.

Summary

Can you feel that chill in the air? It’s not because winter is ACTUALLY coming, but it figuratively arrived last week in the form of the Angels offense. It was cold. Ice cold - almost all the way through the lineup.

Last week the Angels offense was nearly as terrible as the pitching staff last week. Considering the epic awfulness of the pitchers, that’s saying something. Over their 6 games they scored only 22 runs (25th in MLB). They were also tied with the Reds for the worst AVG at .178. They managed 7 home runs which made the week just a bit less miserable but Mike Trout had 4 of them. Simba was the only player who hit over .300 and MOST of the offense had an average below .160 - including Shohei Ohtani.

Not on this list:

Zack Cozart, 60 day DL
Chris Young, 10 day DL
Albert Pujols, 60 day DL (or is it 80 day DL? number are confusing with him)

Changes:

Sep 18 Sherman Johnson Purchased from Minors
