Angels announce non-roster Spring Training invitees

MLB: Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Angels Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Friday, the Angels announced 21 non-roster players who will be joining the team in Tempe in a few weeks.

Info after the players’ names is their age and highest level played.

Pitchers (all RHP)

Miguel Almonte (25, MLB)
Griffin Canning (22, AAA)
Alex Meyer (29, MLB)
Matt Ramsey (29, AAA)
Jeremey Rhoades (25, AAA)
Forrest Snow (30, AAA)

No big surprises here. If you had to look up Matt Ramsey, you are not alone. The Angels signed him to a minor league contract last month. Same deal for Forrest Snow who wins the name game.

Two-Way

Jared Wash (AAA, 25)

Yep. The Angels have another two-way player. I’m looking forward to seeing Walsh pitch! Walsh is a bit of a triple threat since he plays 1B, outfield, and has started pitching.

Catchers

Dustin Garneau (MLB, 31)
Jack Kruger (AA, 24)
Julian Leon (AAA, 23)
Keinner Pina (A, 21)
Roberto Pena (AAA, 26)

Lots of catchers as per usual for spring training. The Angels just picked up Pena a few days ago in case anyone hadn’t heard the name before.

Infielders

Jahami Jones (21, AA)
Matt Thaiss (23, AAA)
Wilfredo Tovar (27, MLB)

Jones and Thiass both were at camp last year. Tovar was a minor league signing back in November who has 18 big league at bats under his belt.

Outfielders

Jo Adell (19, AA)
Peter Bourjos (31, MLB)
Brennon Lund (24, AA)
Brandon Marsh (21, A+)
Jarrett Parker (30, MLB)
Cesar Puello (27, MLB)

Jo Adell gets his first invite to spring training!! Parker and Puello were both free agent minor league signings over the past few months. Marsh and Lund are also both getting their first spring invites and everyone should know who Bourjos is :)

Anyone missing? Who are you most excited to see this spring??
