The Force was not strong enough with the Halos

Question: Where do you bat the guy in your lineup who is sporting the best average?
BBB Answer: 7th of course!

Before we begin, check out this great Star Wars intro video for this game and make sure you pay attention to the special hologram guest appearance:

Tyler Skaggs tonight pitched pretty well. Except when he didn’t. He lasted 7 innings - his longest outing of the year but allowed 4 runs, including a pair of home runs - one of which was Jay Bruce’s 300th of his career. At least history was made?

A problem for Skaggs that ended up looming large in this 1 run loss was a 3rd inning balk that moved Tom Murphy from 2nd base to 3rd base. Murphy would score on a bloop single one batter later.

The Angels weren’t without their firepower. Apparently not enough to destroy a Death Star, but good enough for back to back jacks on back to back pitches from Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani:

The Angels would add one more run in the 7th inning thanks to an Ohtani RBI single that drove in Luis Rengifo. But 3 runs wasn’t going to cut in tonight.

David Fletcher celebrated his 25th birthday today and the team couldn’t pull off a win for him. Fletcher did increase his hitting streak to 10 games. You know - Mr. 7 hole hitter. Good job that guy!
