September 17th, Game #151 Preview: Angels @ Yankees

MLB: New York Yankees at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Angels (68-82) @ Yankees (98-53)

What could go wrong with the Angels strolling into The Bronx without 3 of their best players? I mean, I could think of a few things. First, the Yankees will probably have 100 wins before this series is over. Second, their magic number is only 3 which means they may clinch after the Wednesday or Thursday game. Finally, the Yankees took 3 out of 4 back in April when the Angels were still playing kind of okay. Buckle up for a rough one.

GAME 1

(L) Jose Suarez (6.94 ERA) v. (R) Luis Severino (--- ERA)
Wednesday, September 17th @ 3:35 PM PST

Summary:

Poor Jose Suarez and his 6.94 ERA along with his 2.5 HR/9. It’s going to be rough for him lining up against this Yankee lineup in their bandbox stadium. Would you take the over or under on 3.5 home runs allowed? It’s good experience I supposed. Trust in the process...

Luis Severino will be making his 2019 debut on Tuesday. He’ll be on a 70-80 pitch limit which could be enough to make it through 6 innings. Okay, I kid - a little. Severino faced the Angels last May and needed 99 pitch to get through 6 innings. He struck out 5 and allowed only 1 run in that start.
