In what might be described as a homecoming, Gerrit Cole returned to Southern California to slaughter the Angels for presumably what might be the last time, striking out 10 batters in five innings and holding the home red to just a run.
‘Dilly Picklez’ Peters was no match for the vaunted Astros offense, as he sloshed through 10 outs, giving up nearly as many runs.
Matt Thaiss chipped in two homers and a double, but it wasn’t nearly enough, and the Angels couldn’t complete the comeback despite plating four in the second half of the ballgame.
That’s it for Angels baseball in 2019, folks! And thank you, White Sox for granting the Angels the #10 pick in the 2020 draft: the glorious Adell pick.
From all of us here at Halos Heaven, we hope you enjoyed our coverage of the 2019 season and we look forward to covering the offseason in the months to come. Cheers!
