Patrick Sandoval, coming off a promising 9-strikeout outing against the Rangers, will take the mound tonight facing the A’s Tanner Roark, a consistent backend starter traded from the Reds at the trade deadline. Roark is a workhorse and has 30 starts or more each of the last three seasons and is on track to do the same this year. On the season, Roark has a 4.25 FIP to Sandoval’s 3.31 (albeit in a smaller sample).
