The Angels have three picks remaining in the 2020 MLB Draft, beginning with their third-round selection on Thursday.
Coverage begins at 2 p.m. PT on both MLB Network and ESPN2, with streaming available through MLB.com and Watch ESPN. ESPN’s coverage will originate from Bristol, Conn, with Karl Ravech and Kiley McDaniel in studio, along with various analysts joining remotely. MLB Network’s coverage will be based out of Secaucus, New Jersey, though without team representatives present like usual.
Thursday will include 123 picks, beginning with the second round all the way through the fifth. The Angels have picks in the third round (No. 82 overall), fourth round (111th) and fifth round (141st) on the draft’s final day. They forfeited their second round pick with the signing of Anthony Rendon last offseason.
Louisville pitcher Reid Detmers was drafted by the Angels in Wednesday night’s first round, the 10th overall selection.
The Angels have struck gold a few times in these rounds historically, drafting Tim Salmon (1989), Wally Joyner (1983), and Carney Lansford (1975) in the third round; and picking Garret Anderson (1990) and Mike Witt (1978) in the fourth round.
