Note: I won't be showing the "duds" for the rookie leagues unless they are top prospects or top draft picks. A lot of the guys in the rookie leagues are young and adjusting to pro ball. Many of them never make it past rookie ball, and even the truly gifted ones can have bad weeks, months, etc.

Studs:
Jordan Adell (OF, 18 - 1st Round) - Has had a very impressive start to his career in Arizona. He’s hitting .344 this year with a .394 OBP and 3 home runs. He also has a pair of triples.
Others:
Nonie Williams (SS, 19), is hitting .167 in his last 10 games and just .207 so far this year. he still holds a lot of promise, but his hitting just hasn’t come around yet in his second rookie season. He does only have 2 errors in 12 games at SS this year. In 2016 he made 19 errors in 28 games.
Jacob Pearson (OF, 19 - 3rd Round 2017) ,Is only hitting .192 in 20 games.
Griffin Canning (RHP, 21 - 2nd Round 2017), Has not yet played. The Angels will mostly just be working with Canning in bullpen sessions, etc. and he may not see any game action after throwing 119 innings already this year for UCLA.
John Swanda (RHP, 18 - 4th Round 2017), in just 2.1 innings has given up 7 hits and 6 runs.

Dominican Republic
Level = Rookie, Dominican Summer League
Studs:
Kiber Arvelaez (RHP, 19), has allowed just 3 ER in 24 IP. Hasn’t allowed a run in 15 of his 16 appearances.
Emilker Guzman (RHP, 19), has a .189 BAA and 0.99 WHIP though 11 games and 24.1 IP.
Oliver Carmona (2B, 19), in his second season has an AVG and OBP almost 100 points higher than his debut last year. He’s hitting .308 with a .410 OBP, a pair of homers, and 13 stolen bases in 46 games.

Level = Rookie, Pioneer League
Studs:
Brandon Marsh* (OF, 19), is back from his thumb injury and picked up right where he left off. Rookie ball seems to be no match for him as he is 6 for 15 in his 3 games back with 2 home runs, 3 walks, and 4 RBIs. He’s hitting a monstrous .467 with a .529 OBP in Orem. He’s hitting nearly 100 points higher than the Pioneer League batting leader who has a .378 AVG in 111 AB. Marsh only has 45 ABs so does not qualify for any leader boards.
[Moving down - July 7th] Jeyson Sanchez (1B, 23), he was struggling in A ball and since being sent down to the more hitter friendly Orem has a .426 AVG and .500 OBP along with 8 home runs in just 13 games.
Manuel Guzman (2B, 22), was signed as a minor league free agent in January. He has a .378 AVG in Orem and is hitting .500 over his last 10 games
Harrison Wenson (C, 22 - 24th round 2017), has 8 home runs in 19 games this year. He’s hitting .314 over his last 10 games with 3 homers and 15 RBIs. In those 10 games he’s also been walked 10 times and struck out 10 times.
Isaac Mattson (RHP, 22 - 19th round 2017), has allowed just 1 run in his last 9 innings while striking out 14. He has a 1.62 ERA this year with a .169 BAA and 0.96 WHIP.
Elvin Rodriguez (RHP, 19), has had a pair of bad starts in his 8 games but has been very solid in the other 6, including 5 innings of 2 hit shoutout ball his last time out. He pitched a scoreless 1st inning in the Pioneer/Northwest All Star Game on Tuesday.
Others:
Chris Rodriguez* (RHP, 18), has had a rough year with a 6.40 ERA. He gave up 6 runs in just 1.1 innings in his last trip to the mound. He pitched a scoreless 3rd inning in the Pioneer/Northwest All Star Game on Tuesday.
Denny Brady (20, RHP - 7th round 2017), has allowed 6 runs in his 9.2 innings. Over his last 7.1 innings he has allowed only 2 runs.
Daniel Procopio (21, RHP - 10th round 2017), in 11 innings has allowed 3 runs, 5 hits and has walked 9 and struck out 14.
Torii Hunter Jr. (OF, 22), He’s hitting .306 over his last 10 games with 2 stolen bases and 5 walks.
[Moving up - July 19th ] Cole Duensing (RHP, 19), was rocked in his first start for Orem and gave up 6 runs in 2.2 innings. He rebounded on the 28th by throwing 5 hitless innings and he struck out 2 and walked none.
Justin Kelly (LHP, 24), is racking up some serious frequent flier miles. He’s pitched at literally every minor league level in 2017 and also spent some time in extended spring training.

Studs:
Joe Gatto (RHP, 22), has only allowed 4 runs in his last 25 innings and has struck out 22 and walked 5. One of the few bright spots for the Bees as of late since most of their talent has moved up to IE.
Others:
Roberto Baldoquin (SS, 23), aren’t you a little old for a Bee? Baldoquin was having a so so year with a .253 AVG and he’s been on the DL since the end of June. This guy takes more trips to the DL than Scioscia does to Olive Garden for all you can eat breadsticks
[Moving up - July 20th] Connor Riley (22, RHP - 8th round 2017), has given up 4 runs in his first 6 innings for the Bees but has walked only 3 and struck out 11.
[Moving up - July 19th] Jonah Todd (21, OF - 6th round 2017), is hitting .289 over his last 10 games with 9 Ks and 5 walks.

Jesus Castillo (RHP, 21), in his last two starts he’s given up 3 runs in 11.1 innings. He also struck out 13 and walked 3. He has a 3.63 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 16 game for IE.
Sam Holland (RHP, 23), has a 2.30 ERA over his last 10 games with 16 Ks in 15.2 IP.
[Moving up - July 31] Brandon Sandoval (OF, 22), Sandoval is hitting .415 over his last 10 games and has hit 5 for 7 in his 2 games with IE so far.
Jared Walsh (1B, 24), he his hitting .450 over his last 10 games. He has 8 homers in 59 games across 2 levels this year.
Others:
Connor Justus (SS, 22), his bat has been much better in the second half and he’s hitting .294 his last 10 games with only 3 Ks and he has 7 walks. He had a .179 AVG the first half and so far is hitting .273 in the second half.
[Moving up - July 20] Jahmai Jones* (OF, 19), is hitting .271 over his last 10 games and .305 with a .359 OBP since joining IE.
[Moving up - July 20] Jack Kruger (C, 22), he is hitting .289 in his 11 games with IE but .317 over his last 10 games.
[Moving up - July 15] Jordan Zimmerman (2B, 22), is hitting .315 so far for IE with a home run and a triple. Also has a .351 OBP.

Jake Jewell (RHP, 24), thew 7 scoreless innings with just 1 walks and 4 hits in his last start.
[Moving up - July 30] Taylor Ward* (C, 23), Ward is 10 for 31 since being up to Mobile and he has 9 walks to just 6 Ks in 9 games. He’s caught 1 of 3 base stealers so far in AA which is about right on pace for the 32% he had while playing for IE
Matt Thaiss* (1B, 21), is hitting .333 over his last 10 games with 7 RBIs, 8 walks, and 6 Ks. He’s played 20 games for the BayBears and has a .378 OBP.
Conor Lillis-White (LHP, 24), hasn’t allowed a run in his last 5 appearances. In those 11 innings, he’s struck out 15, walked 5 and allowed just 3 hits.
Grayson Long* (RHP, 22), his start on 7/22 was rocky but he had a scoreless 5.1 innings on 7/28 and 6 scoreless on 7/16 and 7/11. He has a 3.00 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in AA this year.
Others:
[Moving up - July 17] Troy Montgomery (OF, 22), is hitting only .190 with a .358 OBP in his 14 game since being called up. He also has 3 stolen bases.
[Moving up - July 10th] Brendon Sanger (OF, 23), went 2 for 11 in his first 3 games with the BayBears before landing on the 7 day DL.
Jaime Barria* (RHP, 20), Barria has had a few rough outings lately and has a 6.32 ERA in his last 4 starts. That’s raised his season ERA in Mobile to 3.40.

Level = AAA, Pacific Coast League
Studs:
[Moving up - Jul 17] Adam Hofacket (RHP, 23), Since joining the Bees he’s throw 6.2 innings and has allowed 2 runs. He also has a 1.05 ERA. over his last 10 games his ERA is 2.03.
Carlos Perez (C, 26), Perez has 4 walks and 1 just K over his last 10 games and is batting .341 in that stretch.
Jason Gurka (LHP, 29), hasn’t allowed a run in his last 9 starts and 11.2 innings. He’s also struck out 12 in those 9 games.
Deolis Guerra (RHP, 28), has been on a roll and has allowed just 1 run in his last 10 games and 14.1 innings. He’s only walked 2 and has struck out 14.
Bo Way (OF, 25), is in his second stint with the Bees this year. He has hit in all but 1 of his 10 games since being called back up and has a .341 AVG over his last 10 games.
Jefry Marte (1B, 26), is hitting .348 in his last 10 games with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs.
Duds:
John Lamb (LHP, 26) This dude should have “released” after his name any minute now. 7 starts for the Bees and he has an 8.10 ERA, .321 BAA, and 1.77 WHIP.
Others:
[Moving up - Jul 25] Sherman Johnson (2B, 26), Johnson was moved back up to AAA and has 6 hits in 30 ABs. That’s just a .200 AVG. He does have 7 walks so at least he can still get on base other ways.
[Moving up - Jul 15] David Fletcher (SS, 23), he’s played 18 games for Salt Lake and has a .287 AVG with a .326 OBP. He’s only hitting .222 over his past 10 games.
