The American pastime has lent itself to countless films. But which one is the consensus favorite among the HH faithful? Let’s find out.
For this exercise, I’ve set up a 16 film bracket. To determine the films and seeding, I’ve crowdsourced rankings from Rotten Tomatoes, Ranker, and the ultimate authority on everything, Stirrups. Then I’ve added a dash of my own influence to include a couple of Angels-centric titles and make a bracket that makes sense.
For today, we have a yet another Kevin Costner film, Field of Dreams. “If you build it, they will come,” entered the public lexicon, Shoeless Joe Jackson emerged from the corn stalks, and droves of people flocked to Costner’s field of dreams.
The Rookie tells a true life story about a washed out minor league pitcher turned high school baseball coach turned minor league pitcher and ultimately an MLB pitcher. Disney and Dennis Quaid brought Jim Morris’s tale to audiences in the magical year of 2002, and like many others on this list, it has a feel good, tear in your eye moment at the end.
But only one can advance, so which will it be?
