Albert Pujols in Opening Day lineup for 21st straight year

Likely the final Opening Day of his career

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Angels Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

If this is the final season for future Hall-of-Famer Albert Pujols, he’ll go out with a bang. He’ll be in the lineup on Thursday for the Angels, marking his 21st consecutive Opening Day start. In fact, he’s been in the lineup for every Opening Day of his major-league career. With this being his 21st start, he joins some pretty elite company.

Anyways, here’s how the Halos’ lineup shapes up today for Game No. 1 of the season.

Some notables include Shohei Ohtani hitting second in the lineup, the 13th time he’s hit there in his big-league career. Mike Trout, who has spent most of his time over the years in the two-hole, moves to No. 3 in the lineup.

Jose Iglesias and Dexter Fowler find themselves near the bottom of the lineup making their Angels debut.
