If this is the final season for future Hall-of-Famer Albert Pujols, he’ll go out with a bang. He’ll be in the lineup on Thursday for the Angels, marking his 21st consecutive Opening Day start. In fact, he’s been in the lineup for every Opening Day of his major-league career. With this being his 21st start, he joins some pretty elite company.
Tonight, #Angels Albert Pujols will become the third player all-time to make an #OpeningDay start in each of his first 21 Major League seasons, joining Pete Rose and Eddie Murray.

Some notables include Shohei Ohtani hitting second in the lineup, the 13th time he’s hit there in his big-league career. Mike Trout, who has spent most of his time over the years in the two-hole, moves to No. 3 in the lineup.
Jose Iglesias and Dexter Fowler find themselves near the bottom of the lineup making their Angels debut.
