Trout Facts (With Some Opinion): August 2017 Edition

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Time sure flies when the Angels win and Mike Trout has been back. August has been weird for Trout, with his OPS being 1.105 even after that slump, mostly due to his incredible night on the 30th. Still, the slump did hurt, it was his second worst month of the year for him, after July's terrible .922. The fact that .922 is terrible just shows how dominant Trout has been, with his OPS+ back at 200 he is twice the average offensive player. Speaking of...

You know you are doing well when you are surrounded by black and white photos

And people keep saying that the Mantle comparison is wrong somehow... Anyway, Trout has already cemented himself as the best player to ever put on an Angel uniform last time in his Birthday post but itr is more than just WAR, Angel records that are held by Trout are immense.

Literally top 10 almost every single category he is not leading in

Basically all the rate stats besides BA and top 10's and top 5's in so many of them. That he already leads in many of the sabermetrics is astonishing.

Not only that but among MLB active players, he recently passed Justin "Bushleauge" Verlander in WAR for 12th

The most impressive fact is that Trout has the best photo by far

Not only is he by far the youngest on this list, but with the least experience by far and the only one in the top 29 with under 10 years of experience.

Among CFs, Trout moved all the way up to 11th in JAWS. Yes, out of all the CFs in MLB History, only 10 have a better JAWS number (Which is peak weighted with overall WAR)

Center Field (11th):
54.2 career WAR / 54.2 7yr-peak WAR / 54.2 JAWS
Average HOF CF (out of 19):
71.2 career WAR / 44.6 7yr-peak WAR / 57.9 JAWS

Speaking of peak, he just passed the HOFer Ken Griffey Jr in PEAK WAR7 placing Trout 5th all time among CFs that counts this season AND the few games from 2011 so that number can go up much, much higher. 73.7 iis the CF number to beat BTW. And among the top 4 CFs in FWAR, Trout is holding his own.

Oh what could have been this year...

This is impressive of course, but this is just CF. How about the best players in MLB history?

Missing, Bonds, but he didn't pass Ruth anyway, also he is a cheater so...

Yeah that Mantle Comp is looking more and more on point...

Milestones Trout can pass in a month. 200 DINGRZ, he is at 195. 200 Doubles, he is at 193, and he will pass 4K PA and 900 games in a matter of days. And if he does qualify for rate stats, well, it would be the first time he swept OBP, SLUG, and OPS+ in the same year. Not bad for a fat guy, or Kiiiiid. Or the Millville Meteor. Or MICHAEL NELSON TROUT, the greatest Angel Player to have ever put on a uniform.
