Earlier in the week, I kicked off this fun series where I’ll be ranking the best bobbleheads in Angels history. Over the last 20 years, the Angels have given away over 50 bobbleheads to their fans at Angel Stadium.
I figured there’s no better way to commemorate that, than by ranking them! Before we get to the countdown, check out the first article with some of my honorable mentions.
No. 10 — Matt Shoemaker
This was one of three bobbleheads given out by the Angels in 2015, and it definitely was the most unique one. Matt Shoemaker pitched with the Angels from 2013 through 2017. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2014.
Shoemaker was a really good pitcher... when healthy. In his five full seasons with LA, he averaged just over 18 starts a season.
Though he was an above average pitcher on the mound, Shoemaker will likely always be remembered by his beard, which was depicted in this bobblehead here.

For the most part, it’s a very simple and boring bobblehead, not offering anything too special, but the way they made his beard is flawless. They made it look like an actual beard, as opposed to other bobbleheads where the beard is just painted on. We’ve seen other teams do stuff like this in the past, but there’s just something so fascinating and cool about this kind of a design.
It’s unlike any other Angels bobblehead they’ve done, and for that, I’ll let this one crack the top 10.
Honorable mentions
No. 9 — Bobby Grich
No. 8 — Mike Trout — Cycle
No. 7 — Albert Pujols — 600 HR
